Autism Funding in BC

All learners in British Columbia that are diagnosed with autism have access to Autism Funding through the Ministry of Children and Family Development.

The goal of this funding is to “to help families with the cost of purchasing intervention services that will promote their child’s communication, social-emotional, academic and functional life skills development”.

General Information

  • Children under 6 years of age have access to $22,000.00 per year for eligible expenses. Professional service providers must be on the Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP) list.
  • Children over 6 years of age have access to $6,000.00 per year for eligible expenses.
  • Up to 20% of annual funding can be used for indirect eligible services like equipment, travel, and training
  • Funding cycles run from the 1st of the month following a birthday to the last day of the birth month. In a child’s first year of eligibility this cycle may be prorated for a longer or shorter period of time.
  • All service providers require a Request to Pay Form to be completed annually for each funding cycle. Footholds Therapy has a RTP form template that includes all of our information and services.
  • Autism Funding can be managed online through My Family Services Online.
